The 5 axis machining center can handle multiple machining tasks at the same time and on same position. Initially, the machining center was developed from a milling machine in the middle of the 20th century. Since then, the development of this complex machine tool has become faster and faster, and it has been widely used to process various types of high value items. A 5 axis machining center is a machine tool that combines milling, cutting, and more functions. It uses a rotating tool to remove excess material from the work piece.
 
In practice, the processing method of the 5 axis machining center can be done in different directions. In addition to turning, milling can also have a variety of operations, ranging from single tiny parts to heavy and large milling tasks. Similar to turning, milling is one of the most commonly used machining methods to provide precise tolerances. The research and development of milling methods have been widely welcomed in the industry because of its high efficiency, ability to create complex contours for work pieces, and these are what turning center cannot achieve.
 
The bridge machining center is a highly developed machine tool that can process large and hard work pieces at the same time, and all processing can be done on one machining center, without the need to convey the work pieces to other workstations. At the beginning of the machine tool industry’s slow development, milling machine manufacturers developed machining center in the middle of the last century. Since then, this multi-functional machine tool has been used in industry to produce various high value items.

 

Fast and precise

In fact, the machining center is derived from the milling machine. The milling process of a bridge machining center is using a rotary tool to advance the tool to one or more work piece positions and remove excess work piece material. Just like an ordinary milling machine, this machining method can be carried out in different directions. A common machining center will equip at least three axes on the basic parts to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
 
The machining center can cover a variety of machining tasks including turning and milling. The range of work pieces to be processed is wide, from single tiny parts to heavy and large milling tasks. Milling is one of the most common machining methods, because it can provide fairly precise tolerances and create complex contours of the work piece, which are difficult to achieve with traditional turning machine. Based on these new requirements and expectations from the market, the machining center will become more and more efficient.
